WHO WE ARE—AIleen Carpenter

Aileen Carpenter (“Aileen”) is the founder of Carpenter law. She created the firm to directly offer clients efficient and creative litigation and pre-litigation solutions that secure faster results. Aileen has lived and worked on four continents and attributes her adaptable and innovative litigation tactics to her international background. Practical examples of Aileen’s civil litigation accomplishments include:

  •  Securing discovery from an adverse party within a month after filing the complaint through a show cause order for an issuance of a writ of replevin. The discovery revealed fraudulent transfers posturing the case for early resolution.

  • Winning a probate will contest trial by finding evidence to support a difficult forgery defense that was successfully used for impeachment purposes by attacking the adverse witnesses’ credibility.

  • Defending complex motions for summary judgment in securities fraud cases leading to settlement offers.

  • Litigating against class action certifications in Telephone Consumer Protection Act matters resulting in favorable settlements.

  • Obtaining additional funds for clients in construction defect cases through the Florida homeowners construction recovery fund form.

  • Assisting with intercompany disputes by swiftly securing books and records for review and advising clients regarding alternative company structure and remedies.

Aileen specializes in defending and prosecuting cases involving RICO, unfair competition, trademark infringement, complex breach of contract, securities, conspiracy, and torts such as defamation.  As part of her background, Aileen was a key leader at her former in-house position where she handled complex commercial litigation matters, conducted internal investigations, facilitated in the drafting of attorney general complaints, and provided advice regarding white collar crimes and corporate structure. She was also featured on Law360 for filing a complex lawsuit against a competitor. At her prior firm position, Aileen handled both transactional and litigation matters. She has drafted franchise agreements, subscription agreements, and purchase and sale agreements. Aileen is equipped to handle all stages of the litigation process and is no stranger to the court room. She has provided pro bono legal advice for the D.C. Bar’s small business clinic and advises small business owners and prospective entrepreneurs on starting a business, taxation, and other corporate structure issues and remedies.

Aileen is a graduate of Emory University school of law where she was recognized as a graduating woman of excellence.
